Dylan's First Christmas

He's here!

I went to the doc November 30th and she told me they were gonna induce me on the 1st. Kevin and I were super excited and of course totally freaked out. lol However, Dylan did not want to be induced and I went in labor just a few hours after my doc visit. Because my blood pressure was playing games (up at doc office, normal at hospital), my doc didn't want me to be in any pain, so she had me get an epidural as soon as I got there. I was lucky, I never felt one real contraction. The only discomfort was not being able to move my legs by myself lol. Kevin was awesome. Between him and my mom, they doted on me that whole night. Dylan finally made his grand entrance at 10:45am on December 1st - my due date - weighting a whopping 9 lbs! My doc was surprised. So were we. She said for my next child she is putting me on a bread and water diet. lol. Because Dylan was having a few complications with his lungs, Kevin and I were only able to hold him for a minute. He was admitted to the NICU and

39 weeks

Hey you guys! Just wanted to keep you up to date on yesterday's md visit. Yesterday I made 39 weeks! WOOHOO! I'm super excited and a little nervous. They checked my weight and blood pressure and my blood pressure was 160/100. So they hooked me up to a little monitor and gave me a little clicker and I had to press it everytime the baby moved. They took my bp again. My doc told me the baby was doing great but that my blood pressure was way to high. She told me that if my bp didn't drop I would have to be induced. I was scared! Yes, I'm ready for this baby but I don't mind waiting a couple more days to deliver him. lol. So I was admitted to the hospital and they began to monitor the baby. They also checked my bp again and had to report the results to my doc. They put in an IV and was about to administer some kind of med to help my bp go down when a nurse stuck her head in the room and said the doc called. When they told her my new bp she was like "you've got t

Kev's b-day pics

For Kevin's birthday, him and I went to Young's Steakhouse in Slidell. The food was awesome! Here are a few pics from his birthday. Kevin's rib-eye. The cake I made him. Cafe Au Lait Cake What a goof nut.

Happy Birthday Kevin!

Today is Kevin's birthday! He is now 27. Man, that's old . . . lol just kidding. Happy Birthday to an awesome husband, friend, and soon to be daddy! I love you! "We gonna be togetha foreva. You my baby daddy." lol Side Note: When we were just dating, we were talking on the phone one night when all of a sudden our phone lines must have gotten crossed. I then hear a woman arguing with I guess her boyfriend. She starts telling the guy "We gonna be together forever . You my baby daddy." Me and Kevin got silent. I thought he was playing a joke on me. lol. Finally we spoke and he said he heard the same thing too. We were scared to hear what else they were gonna say so we both hung up. lol. It was crazy but definitely a memory never forgotten! So Kevin: "We gonna be togetha foreva cuz you my baby daddy." lol I love you and Happy Birthday!

10 more days . . .

Ahhhhh! I can't wait to have Dylan! Every night I go to bed I wonder "Is it tonight?" lol. I finally backed my bags to bring to the hospital thanks to Kevin's urgings. A bag for when I'm in labor and another bag for afterwards. I hope I have everything I'm going to need. While I am very excited about finally getting to meet little Dylan, I also am a little scared. What if he doesn't like me? lol. Just joking. This is all such a new experience for me and Kevin. It's like a dream. Am I really gonna be a mother in just a few short days? It still seems so unreal. My cousin bought Dylan a bassinet. I think it is adorable. It vibrates, sings, and I think it rocks too. Here are a couple more things we've added to the room since last time. My mom made the cushion! I love it! Oh yeah . . . Monday is Kevin's birthday! He is going to be 27!

37 more days!

Thursday my doc said I was 34 weeks. I thought I made 33 weeks last Monday but obviously I was wrong. So I'm 34 weeks as of Thursday. Good. That's taken care of. Let's move on . . . This post is dedicated to Sis. Betsy and all you other readers who are constantly nagging me to update my blog. lol. Kev and I were blessed to have two baby showers. One with my side of the family and our church family and the other with his side. I had fun at both and Dylan received plenty of gifts! Hopefully I will get some pics soon of the two showers so I can post a few. We've been busy getting Dylan's room together and sorting and putting away all the great stuff we got at our showers. Kevin has been putting stuff together and hanging things on the wall. What a great guy! So, here are a couple of pics of what we've done to the nursery so far.

30 weeks

30 weeks. Wow. Time is zooming by, and before we know it, little Dylan will be here! We've been busy getting things ready for him. Supplies used to put the border up. (Use whatya got! lol) Close-up of the border. D-Y-L-A-N! The crib and dresser my parents bought! I can honestly say I'm enjoying being pregnant. (at least so far. ask me again later and I'm sure it will change lol.) I can tell already that Dylan will be a very active little boy. I feel him constantly. It's an exciting feeling! Turt loves Dylan already! 26 weeks. 30 weeks.

it's a boy!

ultrasound!

Kevin and I are super excited! We have an ultrasound scheduled for this Monday to determine the baby's gender! We have been waiting for what seemed liked forever for our doc to schedule one. When I finally asked her, she said she wasn't scheduling one until I was 31 weeks. However, she did say we could schedule one on our own. So that's what we did! So pray that this little bambino wants his or her gender known just as bad as we do!

july update

This month has been a very busy one and I finally have time to post about it. I don't know where to start! Let's see . . . our youth group had its annual car wash on the 11th. We washed 49 cars and a fire truck! (We counted it as 3 cars!) Everyone was excited to climb it and wash it. We also went to Tulsa, Oklahoma the 22nd - 24th with our youth group for a youth conference. Everything was awesome, the services were awesome, the worship was awesome, the preaching was awesome, the fellowship and fun was awesome, and the bus ride there and back was ... interesting. lol. On the 6th I had another doc visit. My doc moved my due date to December 1st and said I was 18 weeks. She also said I would start feeling the baby move. Since then, I still don't know if I've felt it move. I've felt little flutterings like everyone said I should feel, but it's hard to tell if it's the baby or gas. lol. Gross I know, but how am I suppose to know if it's the baby or just my s

25 years old

This Monday, I turned 25 years old. I'm a quarter of a century old! Man. Seems like just the other day I was turning 16. lol. Time sure flies. I had a great b-day! My boss and 2 other employees took me to eat at a restaurant called Crawfish Paradise. The food was excellent and so was the cake! Fattening but delicious! By the time I got home from work, I didn't have much of an appetite. Kevin baked me a cake (it was very yummy!) and later that night our family came over to celebrate. I had a very enjoyable birthday! The baker himself. Very creative, Kevin. Happy Birthday, me! The flowers Kevin gave me. I love Gerber Daisies! They are a whole lot more fun than roses!
